Naoto Yoshida (b.1989) is a Japanese writer and photographic artist based in Kyoto. Since 2017, he has focused on social issues related to disability and para-sports, questioning what constitutes disability in society. His practice has expanded into photography within a contemporary documentary practice, including a socially engaged approach during his MFA in Photography at the University for the Creative Arts (UK/2022-2024). His current personal scope covers disability, mental health, and care. He has published two co-written non-fiction books from Japanese publishers, and his work has been shortlisted for the Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Prize (2023・2024) and was selected as a winner of Portrait of Britain vol.6 in 2023, as well as an exhibitor for the IPE 166 by the Royal Photographic Society in 2025.
吉田直人
1989年、千葉県生まれ。2017年にフリーランスのライターとして活動を開始し、これまで主に障害当事者の社会課題やパラスポーツをテーマに取材を行ってきた。2020年に渡英。2022年に進学したUniversity for the Creative Arts(芸術写真修士課程)在籍中から写真を活用したプロジェクトを始める。2024年、ロンドンにて発達障害当事者の生活体験に焦点をあてたドキュメンタリー写真プロジェクトの個展を実施。同プロジェクトのポートレート写真はBritish Journal of Photographyが主催し、同国の多層性・多様性を描くPortrait of Britainにて2023年度の受賞作品に選出されたほか、英国Royal Photographic SocietyのInternational Photography Exhibition (IPE 166)の2025年度展示作家に選出されている。2024年10月に帰国。現在京都を拠点に活動。
